Iman is not static — it rises and falls, and even the Companions asked the Prophet ﷺ about it. If your faith feels weak, do not despair: strengthening iman is a journey with clear, practical steps.
1. Guard your salah
Prayer is the first thing that revives a tired heart. Pray on time, and try to add a small voluntary (nafl) prayer. Check your times on our prayer times page.
2. Reconnect with the Qur'an
Even a few verses a day, with their meaning, bring life to the heart. If you struggle to start, see how to read the Qur'an daily.
3. Keep your tongue moist with dhikr
Istighfar, salawat and tasbih are quick, powerful habits. Use a tasbih counter or recite a few of the 99 Names of Allah while you walk or rest.
4. Choose good company
Faith is contagious. Spend time with people who remind you of Allah, and reduce time with what drags you down.
5. Serve and give
Charity softens the heart, and acts of kindness give iman a purpose. Even a smile is charity.
6. Never lose hope
Allah says: "Do not despair of the mercy of Allah" (Surah Az-Zumar 39:53). A slip is not the end — turn back, and Allah loves those who repent.
"Verily, in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest." — Surah Ar-Ra'd 13:28
