Ramadan passes quickly, and many of us reach Eid wishing we had done more. The key to spending Ramadan faithfully is consistency, not intensity. The Prophet ﷺ loved deeds done regularly, even if small. Here is a simple plan you can actually keep.

Set your intention and a realistic goal

Begin with a sincere intention and choose one or two areas to improve — for example, praying on time, or finishing the Qur'an. Write your goal down and keep it simple.

Week 1 — build the routine

Week 2 — add worship

  • Increase dhikr and istighfar; use the tasbih counter.
  • Give regular, even small, charity — the Prophet ﷺ was the most generous of people, and most generous in Ramadan (Sahih al-Bukhari).
  • Make a list of duas and ask for them daily, especially at iftar.

Week 3 — deepen the connection

Learn the meaning of what you recite, reflect on one verse a day, and guard your tongue and gaze. Complete a khatm (a full Qur'an reading) with a steady daily share using our Ramadan planner.

Week 4 and the last ten nights — go for it

The Prophet ﷺ would strive in worship in the last ten nights more than at any other time, seeking Laylat al-Qadr. Increase night prayer, charity and the dua: "Allahumma innaka 'afuwwun tuhibbul-'afwa fa'fu 'anni" (O Allah, You are Most Forgiving and You love forgiveness, so forgive me) — at-Tirmidhi.

Protect the fast

Fasting is more than food: guard your tongue, your temper and your time on screens. Fill spare moments with duas for how you feel and the 99 Names of Allah.
